Courtyard Raleigh Midtown

As a frequent Marriott Bonvoy traveler, I expect a consistent level of comfort and service—especially from a Courtyard-branded property. Unfortunately, Courtyard Raleigh Midtown falls well short of expectations. The Good:    •   Location is reasonably central for Raleigh and near shopping/dining options.    The Bad:    •   Aging infrastructure: The hotel feels stuck in the 1990s. Popcorn ceilings in guest rooms signal just how outdated the building is. Hallways are dim, décor is tired, and furnishings show significant wear.    •   Long trek to the elevators: After check-in, expect a hike. Elevators are located far from the front desk, making it especially inconvenient with luggage.    •   No complimentary breakfast: Despite Bonvoy elite status, even Platinum members only receive a $10 voucher, which barely covers a coffee and pastry. Gold members get nothing. For a brand that once prioritized business travelers, this feels like nickel-and-diming.    •   Housekeeping downgrade: Daily room cleaning is no longer standard. Unless you’re staying more than three days, don’t expect your bed made or towels refreshed—unless you specifically request it.    •   Uncomfortable beds: The mattress in my room was worn and lumpy, leading to a poor night’s sleep. For a hotel chain that prides itself on rest and productivity, this is unacceptable. Overall: This property feels like it’s coasting on the Marriott name without delivering the brand promise. If you’re a Bonvoy elite expecting recognition or quality service, prepare to be disappointed. There are newer, more modern options in Raleigh that offer better value and comfort. I won’t be returning.

Very convenient to Duke Health, easy checkin. Quiet. The carpet needs updating and the configuration of the hotel is very odd…we had to walk a great distance to get from the entrance to our room.

Great stay. It was a good room for an over night stay! Only negative thing I have is the toilet doesn’t flush well and the bed was a little hard for me.

Bathrooms could have been alittle cleaner other than that everything was good.
